Yes--I am still here.

A book that I ordered last winter is Beth Moore's "Praying God's Word."  With everything that was happening last winter I wasn't able to start it on my own.  It was all I could do to keep up with the study my small group was doing.  We read and studied Susie Larson's "Embracing Your Freedom" which was a very heavy book.

Well, anyway I pulled Beth Moore's book off my shelf a couple of nights ago and started the introduction.  I must have been tired because I fell asleep.  This morning when DH asked if I would like to ride with him to ship a load of steers--my answer was, "Sure!"  While I was thinking--I could really use this time to scrub the kitchen floor.  I ran to the bedroom and grabbed the book.  So while I was sitting in the truck  for 90 minutes while he watched the steers sell and talk with the other farmers--I started reading.

WOW!!!  She opens the introduction talking about strongholds--1.What is a stronghold.  2.  Where is the battlefield?  3.  What are our weapons?  I could continue-

-However,  I also was able to start, Chapter 1.  Overcoming Idolatry.  An entirely different look and understanding of idolatry.  What it is in our life--Complete with many scriptures to guide my thoughts--and to pray over.
One passage that really grabbed and made me sit up is Psalms 35:5-9.

Psalm 36:5-9
New International Version (NIV)
 5 Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens,
   your faithfulness to the skies.
6 Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
   your justice like the great deep.
   You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.
7 How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
   People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of your house;
   you give them drink from your river of delights.
9 For with you is the fountain of life;
   in your light we see light.

Look at verses 8 & 9. We are to FEAST on what the Lord gives us--DRINK from His river--and He is FOUNTAIN of life.

Just what I needed today.
